Welcome to the Mission Mountain Enterprises, Inc. web site. MME is a private,
non-profit corporation in Lake County, Montana, established in 1975 to
provide high quality, community-based services to individuals with
intellectual disabilities.
We define “intellectual disability” as a disability resulting from mental
retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism or any other neurologically
handicapping condition closely related to mental retardation.
Central to our mission is the belief that people with intellectual
disabilities deserve every opportunity to lead lives that are just as
independent and full as everyone else’s.
At MME, we offer group homes, activity centers, thrift stores, employment
programs, a supported living program, and transportation services. These
services are profoundly empowering for people with intellectual
disabilities, many of whom are moving away from institutional living and into
community living. It may be the first time they have had a private bedroom to
call their own, a voice in their personal surroundings, a paying job, time to
themselves, or the independence to simply walk to the store, to a friend’s
house, or to church.
We have eight people based in both our Mission View and Benjamin Street Homes in
the community of Ronan. In Polson, MME operates two intensive care group homes –
Orchard View, an eight-bed home, and Ninth Avenue, a six-bed home. Our
supported living program currently serves 25 individuals.
MME presently has approximately 125 employees.
